IVP1: 49

This unlikely chart represents a statistic my professor mentioned in one of my classes that was from a study done in New York. According to this study, a black man is 49 times more likely to serve an active prison sentence for drug possession than a white man. I took the face of a single black male and multiplied it by 49, placing the images randomly around the space. The eyes were darkened out in the faces to secure a sense of anonymity as well as emphasize the point that the color of the skin, not the individual person, was the most important factor.
