Art Show Wednesday

Last week there were several pieces that jumped out at me. First and foremost was the piece titled "Hire Me". The idea behind this work was essentially that of a graphical resume. The author chose to creatively illustrate trait that employers consider favorable, such as creativity and versatility. The combination of the words and the images made for a powerful message that I'm sure any observer would be able to gather.

Another piece that I enjoyed was "Rotting Fruit". The picture displays the progression of ripe fruit to over ripeness and eventually to decay. However, rather than simply lining up the different images of fruit, the author created a diagonal design with the fruits, creating a sense of motion. Consequently, the picture seems to imply a sort of journey from ripe to rotten as opposed to a simple progression.
